Development of a hybrid system of renewable energy sources for almost zero energy buildings

The project was implemented with the help of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science (FMON), in the period from 01.09. 2019 until August 31, 2020. The total value of the project is 22,343 KM, of which FMON participated with the amount of 15,333 KM, while the rest of the necessary funds were provided by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Mostar.

The development and application of renewable energy is one of the main priorities in the world today. However, one of the characteristics of these energy sources is their instability; solar energy can be used during the day, while it is not available at night; wind energy can also be used only occasionally. The aim of the research proposed in this project is to develop a hybrid system that would optimally use all the mentioned renewable energy sources, define the necessary capacities for energy storage, all in order to meet the electricity needs of a particular facility or achieve near zero energy. By optimal use of renewable energy sources: solar, wind and geothermal energy, for each specific micro-location it is possible to significantly reduce the cost of electricity consumption, or achieve the effect of building almost zero energy.
