Renewable Energy Studies in Western Balkan Countries - RESi

 

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University "Džemal Bijedić" Mostar participates as a project partner in the TEMPUS project "Renewable Energy Studies in Western Balkan Countries" - RESI.
The partner universities on the project are:


- University of Hohenheim (UHOH),
- University of Stuttgart (USTUT),
- University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU),
- Technical University of Sofia (TUS),
- University of Technology in Bratislava (STU),
- Agriculture University of Tirana (AUT),
- Polytechnic University of Tirana (PUT),
- University of Montenegro (UNME),
- University of Zenica (UNZE).

The project has been implemented for the last three years and will end in December 2016. The goals of the project are multiple: introduction of a new Master Study (II cycle) "Renewable Energy Sources" at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University "Džemal Bijedić" Mostar (as well as similar studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica, Tirana, Albania and Podgorica, Montenegro) necessary for teaching and laboratory work at the study and the Faculty, procurement of necessary literature, exchange of students with partner universities from the EU, control and improvement of the quality of teaching, etc.


The project opened a new study program "Renewable Energy Sources" - master's degree (II cycle), which enrolled the first students in the 2015/16 academic year. in Zenica.

Within the project, in addition to the necessary literature for the University Library, which will be used by students, very valuable equipment was procured. It includes a large number of desktop and laptop computers, smart devices, a geothermal energy laboratory with all its equipment, a solar energy laboratory with all its equipment, a classroom loudspeaker, as well as other similar equipment.

In this project, our students were on a study visit to:
- University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria
- Technical University of Sofia (TUS), Bulgaria,
- University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), Slovakia,
- as well as at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Mostar has had multiple benefits in this project, and the Faculty staff has expanded the network of cooperation and the opportunity for new projects.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Mostar offers the possibility of enrollment in three directions of the first cycle and three directions of the second cycle of studies.
