Activities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering during the state of emergency

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the "Džemal Bijedić" University in Mostar joined the action of making protective visors for medical staff in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton during the period of the declared state of emergency in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The action was joined by students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering who owned 3D printers, the NGO OKC UrbanArt Jablanica and the Elementary School Zalik. During the state of emergency, the team gathered around the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering made and distributed over 500 visas to medical staff in health care institutions in Mostar, Konjic and Jablanica, Civil Protection services and other public services.

The action was recognized by the International Organization for Migration, which through the program Bosnia and Herzegovina Resilience Initiative supported by USAID donated two 3D printers, 32 spools of filament for printing and other raw materials for making visors to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. After the completion of the activity of making protective visors, the donated equipment will remain at the disposal of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and its students for the teaching process and the realization of their creative ideas.

The American Corner Mostar, Elementary School Zalik, Civil Protection Konjic, Municipal Headquarters of Civil Protection Jablanica, Alim doo Visoko and Bema doo Gračanica also helped with the production of protective visors with their donations in the form of materials.
